Email Forwarders in DirectAdmin

Email forwarders automatically redirect incoming email from one address to another. You can forward to another address on your domain, or to an external email address entirely.

Creating a Forwarder

  1. Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel.
  2. Go to E-Mail Manager > Forwarders.
  3. Click Add Forwarder.
  4. Enter the address to forward from (e.g. info@yourdomain.com).
  5. Enter the destination address in the Forward To field.
  6. Click Save.
You can forward to multiple destinations by creating separate forwarders from the same source address. You can also forward to an external email address such as Gmail or Outlook.com.

Setting Up a Catch-All

A catch-all address receives any email sent to your domain that does not match an existing mailbox or forwarder.

  1. Go to E-Mail Manager > Forwarders in DirectAdmin.
  2. Click Add Forwarder.
  3. In the address field, enter * (asterisk) as the local part.
  4. Enter the destination address to receive catch-all mail.
  5. Click Save.
Catch-all addresses can receive large volumes of spam. Make sure spam filtering is configured if you enable this feature.

Removing a Forwarder

  • Go to E-Mail Manager > Forwarders.
  • Tick the checkbox next to the forwarder you want to remove.
  • Click Delete Selected and confirm.
